In my soul's darkest night,
In every tear I've drowned myself in,
— Knowing these ocean tears wouldn't change a thing
Though they seem to be my only way out
While I wait for someone to help me out —
You step in and dry my ocean's worth of tears.
You comfort me and remind me that you care.
Whatever I'm going through you're here to help me bear.
Here to walk me through my dark valley,
To keep me from drowning and sinking deep.
You tell me, I'll be alright because You're always here with me.
You remind me that You see me,
And You smile at me,
Knowing that You always use whatever I go through to grow me.
You look at me,
Telling me,
If only I knew...,
If only I knew You are doing something new,
If only I knew You were at work right now,
I'll stop worrying and rest in Your arms.
I'll rest in Your presence because You've got things under control.
But I wouldn't know,
I spend time worrying and limiting Your power with my expectations,
Filled with frustration.
Still, You keep reminding me that I need to surrender my expectations and fully trust You
Because You know my beginnings, my ends, and every detail of my middle.
And that I deserve peace and rest.
You say, "Come to me and I'll give you that rest,
So you don't wear yourself out like the rest."
You say to me, "It's okay to do your very best,
But you don't have to do things all by yourself,
Let me take it from here."
Rest.
Rest in me,
I know how you feel,
That's why I'm here to help you,
To strengthen and uphold you,
With my right hand.
Rest in my arms child.
